Hiroshima - A young girl who survived the initial bombing, but developed cancer believed that if she folded 1000 paper cranes that her wish to become better would be granted. Sadly, she died, but children all over Japan still fold paper cranes and bring them to this spot. You can see them all encased around the memorial to the children lost in the Hiroshima bombing
